Copyright Protection Policy
As all data and products provided through this website are protected under the Copyright Act, users shall follow the copyright policy as follows.
According to Article 24-2 of the Copyright Act, any data or products whose copyright is owned in its entirety by the Environmental Satellite Center (ESC) of the National Institute of Environmental Research (NIER) may be freely used without permission.
However, users must note that any data with the Type 1 mark (“Source Indication”) of the Korea Open Government License (KOGL) on it can be used under the condition that its source is explicitly indicated.
Some of the data and products available on this website are not solely owned by the ESC –provided free of charge by individuals, organizations, or institutions who are interested or engaged in environmental protection activities. Anyone who wants to freely use such data and/or products must receive prior permission from the party who holds the copyright of the data and/or products. In other words, use of data and/or products with no KOGL mark on them requires authorization from the copyright holder. Unauthorized use of copyrighted material may result in violation of the Copyright Act.
Users shall make sure that when they directly link data and products on the ESC website to another site they must provide this data policy link too, otherwise the policy may go unnoticed to those who access the data and products on that page.
